Poggio Bustone

Located in the beautiful Rieti plain, the historical importance of Poggio Bustone is documented from Saint Francis’ passage in 1208. He addressed his famous greeting "Good day good people…" to Poggio Bustone people. By these simple words the "Assisi Poor man" introduced himself to PODIUM BASTONIS (old name of Poggio Bustone) people, while entering the medieval town, in company of other friars, from the access door “Buongiorno Arc” or “Saint Rocco Arc”.
Poggio Bustone is one of the fundamental stages of an historical and religious path called "Il Cammino di Francesco".
